On 20 February 2025, China's Antarctic Great Wall Station celebrated the 40th anniversary of its establishment. As the cornerstone of China's Antarctic expedition, the Great Wall Station has not only witnessed the hardships and struggles of China's polar expedition team members, but also embodied China's continuous progress and breakthroughs in the field of polar scientific research.

During this forty-year journey, LIUGONG, as a leader in China's construction machinery industry, has been working closely with China Polar Research Centre to provide solid equipment for the Antarctic scientific research. Since 2008, LIUGONG has been escorting China's polar scientific research for more than ten consecutive years, sending more than 30 sets of equipment such as loaders, excavators, truck cranes, etc., to serve in the Antarctic Zhongshan Station, the Great Wall Station and Qinling Station.

LIUGONG's equipment performs well in the extremely harsh environment of Antarctica, especially its cranes have been successfully applied in the Great Wall Station and Zhongshan Station in Antarctica for many times, which highlights the strength and reliability of Chinese construction machinery brands. In addition, LIUGONG and the China Polar Research Centre have jointly built a polar engineering machinery and equipment protection system, cultivated a large number of professionals for China's polar scientific research cause, and promoted the research and development of engineering machinery and equipment for special polar environments and the construction of experimental platforms.

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Great Wall Station, LIUGONG and China Polar Research Centre (CPRC) held a ceremony to renew their strategic cooperation for the next five years, and both parties will continue to deepen their cooperation and make more contributions to China's polar scientific research. LIUGONG will continue to uphold the spirit of ‘defying difficulties and dangers and being bold in exploration’, provide more high-quality and reliable equipment and services for China's Antarctic scientific research, and help China's polar scientific research to continuously step forward to a new level.
