At 14:20 Beijing time on 28th March, Myanmar was hit by a 7.9 magnitude earthquake, which spread to northern Thailand, resulting in road damage, building collapse, and tens of thousands of people were trapped. At the critical moment, China's leading construction machinery company XCMG Group quickly launched the international emergency rescue mechanism, with ‘hardcore equipment + efficient linkage’ to set up a transnational life channel, in the golden rescue 72 hours staged a race against time in the race of life and death.

After the earthquake, XCMG Myanmar office, together with local customers, urgently dispatched excavators, cranes and other equipment to Yangon, Mandalay and other hard-hit areas of rescue, and the Thai subsidiary synchronously launched an emergency response to Bangkok with aerial work platforms and other professional equipment to aid the earthquake area. The two places cumulatively dispatched dozens of technical experts and more than 150 localised employees, through the three-dimensional rescue mode of ‘equipment first, personnel follow up’, to open up a life channel in the rubble. CCTV news footage recorded shocking scenes, XCMG cranes with steel arms to lift the trapped people, excavators and loaders working together to cut rebar, remove the collapsed body, complete sets of equipment to show the ‘demolition - obstacle clearance - transfer’ integration of rescue performance.

This transnational rescue not only tests the emergency response capability of the enterprise, but also highlights the synergistic advantages of its global layout. XCMG relies on the resident agencies and partner networks in Myanmar and Thailand to achieve rapid deployment of rescue resources and localised response. As of press time, the rescue team is still fighting continuously in the quake zone, putting into practice the concept of ‘community of human destiny’ with professional strength. As one of the world's top three construction machinery manufacturers, XCMG has always taken social responsibility as the core mission of corporate citizenship while ploughing into overseas infrastructure, and this cross-border rescue operation has once again polished the business card of Made in China.
